Wow, if you didn't think they were crazy...

before, look at this incident here in VA, this is a completely different level.

Washington (CNN) - Days after his address was posted online by a Virginia Tea Party activist, the FBI and local law enforcement officials are investigating a "suspicious incident" at the home of Rep. Tom Perriello's brother.

A line to the propane tank on his brother's gas grill had been "severed," an aide to the Democratic congressman told CNN.

"It was enough that he could smell the gas," the aide said.

The Albemarle County Fire Marshal's office confirmed they are investigating the incident - which took place in Ivy, Virginia - along with the FBI.

"While officials are not willing to characterize the exact nature of the incident because of the ongoing investigation, it did not involve an immediate threat to occupants of the residence," Lee Catlin, Community Relations Director for the Fire Marshal, told CNN. "However officials are taking the incident very seriously and conducting a vigorous investigation. Additional details will be released as the investigation continues."

Catlin said county officials joined the investigation late Tuesday after a request from the FBI.

Politico reported Monday that a Tea Party activist in Lynchburg, angry over Perriello's vote in favor of health care reform legislation, had posted the address of Perriello's brother online and encouraged other activists to "stop by" and weigh in on the bill. The activist had apparently meant to post the congressman's home address but mistakenly published his brother's.

Perriello, who represents Virginia's conservative-leaning 5th congressional district, encompassing central and southern parts of the state. He was narrowly elected to his first term in 2008 and is considered one of the most vulnerable House Democrats in 2010.

Wow, glad you are finally realizing the truth!

Tea Party death toll for the past year - 0 - unless I'm missing something

Radical Islamic death toll for LAST MONTH - 600+ with 1600+ critically hurt

Good to see someone else realizing that Islam is simply a violent religion....thanks again!

Reports are coming in, from 10 different dems I think it said, that they have received death threats. Hoyer made the statement, one that I remember was Louise Slaughter got one threatening that those that voted for it, will be shot(picked off sniper style), brick was thrown through her office door along with other similar incidents....and also threats against their family and staff members.

What the hell is this coming to? I expected some backlash, but this far and for this bill?

I wonder how many stupid death threats are received on "average" days? I bet there are some.

I do agree that there is an unreasonable response for opponents. I wonder if the Rush Limbaugh's of the world are more to blame for the radical response than the Tea Party?

Just heard that a new poll is already showing a huge swing in public opinion on the health care bill. According to ABC News an up to date poll is showing 49% now in support of the bill!!!!

Only 40% now saying it was a bad idea!

Watch the Republican outcry turn to a whimper within days. Count on in.

Re: Wow, if you didn't think they were crazy...

its not fair to compare radical Islamic TERRORISTS to a bunch of morons distorting Christianity.

I think what he meant Gotch was that in ideology, both groups distort their religious views to promote their agenda and lie to make it seem like their ideals are always right.

I agree its a radical comparison, but Al Qeada was a bad example. They are a terrorist organization.

A logical comparison for Al Qeada is:
Al Qeada is to radical Islam like the Jewish Defense Leage is to radical Judiasm.

No, that's a radically unfair comparison too. There is no real comparison in either Christianity or Judaism...due to the nature of Islam.

In terms of a death toll, you are right, no group matches the sheer number of deaths inflicted by Islamic terrorists.

But, the JDL used violence as a tool, an asset they used to further their agenda, making them more similar to Al Qeada than the Tea Party's.

We've been thru this before, and i wont sidetrack the thread, but why do you claim the nature of all Islamic people is violent? Its not a fair judgment at all to declare that the nature of Islam is violent.

But I also think that talking heads like Limbaugh and O'Reily are just as responsible, if not more, for the radical response than the Tea Party's.

Without the talking heads, there is no Tea Party

My brother in law and his entire family are devout Muslims..he lives in Richmond with my sister (his wife) and my nephew (his son)..his family lives in Turkey and come here to visit as often as is allowed by the government..furthermore, my nephew has dual citizenship..so I take offense to the stereotype of Muslims projected by the ignorance of folks in this country who seem to know no better. Here you have what amounts to attempted murder of a representative of our government..more than likely an attempt by a Tea Bagger (a group embraced by the KKK who in terms of the bigotry of the Baggers' rhetoric is embraced back) This combined with Sarah Palin's (another personality both involved with and embraced by the Baggers) website which instructs Tea Baggers to "Reload" and marks congressional districts with crosshairs (one of which is this Rep's district) tells me all I need to know about the quality of people involved with this group...a person would have to be one stupid fuck to associate themselves with these people or attempt to defend them. So..come again?
